Painting in the Shtetl

It's exactly what it sounds like!

Category: Uncategorized

Last post? For now, at least.

My dear friends, family and strangers,

I think I did a pretty good job with keeping to my word. You’ve got some videos, sketchbook pages, explanations about figuring out the mysteries of the missing text (see images in SUNDAY, JULY 8 – LAST DAY OF PAINTING and click through). I would have liked to give a more comprehensive account of the research and detective work we did, but I’m a bit pressed for time. I do have my own copy of Resplendent Synagogue (thanks Mom and Dad!) and as I make my way through it, perhaps I’ll be inspired to post some thoughts.

But it’s not over! Handshouse is still hard at work finishing the last of the panels and you can track their progress here.

Before I move on to the next thing (Rosh Melechet Yad *Hebrew for head of arts and crafts programming* at Camp Stone in Sugar Grove, PA), I’ll leave you with one last picture….

East Dome, Complete!….Almost!

Thank you so much for following my blog!! Feel free to contact me if you want to hear more about my experience in Poland, discuss possible art collaborations, or just be friends.

My website is a work in progress, but in the meantime you can see some of my work here.

Enjoy the summer, life, houses and bunnies, whatever it is you do,

Sarah

Don’t leave me yet!

My dear readership,

I’m back in the US and the blog is not complete. But fear not! I will make a tremendous effort to finish commenting and uploading (videos, sketches, photo comparisons, explanations, oh my!) before I leave for Camp Stone on Tuesday. I just wanted to let you know that just because I’m back, doesn’t mean I’m signing out! There will be an official final post, so keep checking in until then! You can keep coming back even after this chapter of my Handshouse participation is over. I have a feeling there will be a part two.

Shabbat shalom!

Sarah

This just in!

A few posts ago, I mentioned that a woman (her name is Anna Soria and works for Kazimierz Dolny’s official website) interviewed me and asked me to comment on the Jewishness of Kazimierz Dolny. Below are the pictures she took.

Here’s the article and you can read my quote in print!  If you’re not fluent in Polish, you can set the browser to translate it into English:
